Our Favorite Creative Christmas Videos

A time of music, family gatherings, decking the halls of your home, gift wrapping and opening, and a little time off from the daily routine - Christmas means all that and more to each of us. However you observe today and tomorrow - sledding down hills, caroling in the neighborhood, volunteering at a homeless shelter, attending midnight church services, or baking cookies and pies - we hope you have a wonderful holiday. We've selected a few fun holiday videos, some of our favorites this year, and all with a slant towards the creative - after all, our audience is creative people. Happy holidays!

Glitz and Glam: Holiday Wedding Color Board

It’s on Cakelets. The holiday season is here! Time to bring out the sparkly (as if we ever put it away), the party dresses, and endles amounts of sweet treats we love munching on this time of year. It’s kind of nuts how fast these next couple weeks are going to go, so we hope you find some glitzy inspiration from our board for your festivities ahead - parties, weddings, events.

    Modernize Your Home Holiday Decorating

Isn’t that wreath spectacular? Danielle from 100 Layer Cake made it using a wreath frame and found branches from her neighborhood magnolia trees. She spray painted the green side of each leaf with gold and then assembled it using wire. And she claims it’s really not as complicated as it looks. Amazing!
Jillian created the garland for the mantel using styrofoam balls she spray painted with copper, gold, and silver. She strung them using a needle and heavy string and then hung them from teeny nails hidden behind the drop of her mantel.
Cute party shoes, no? Clearly the fashion at a holiday party in a home with modern decorations like this would be bold and sparkly.

Love the illustrated ornaments for an easy little project to dress up any part of your house this time of year. Jillian drew them and guess what? You totally can too!

We Love Valentine's Day Jewelry Promotions

Jay Johnson - Love is in the air, and as we approach Valentine's Day, we're going to be bombarded with ads and videos and online enticements to make purchases for our significant others and sweethearts ... or just break down and buy that big box of chocolates as a you've-made-it-through-the-week-intact gift to yourself!

I've bumped into some nifty Valentine's Day jewelry promotions that I wanted to share with you. Jewelry is one of those gifts that has meaning when one person gives a bit of bling to another, but it's becoming increasingly common for people to buy jewelry as a treat to oneself (read about the self-gifting jewelry trend right here). If you're a jewelry designer, you'll want to tie your craft into seasonal promotions that have special meaning, from Valentine's Day to Father and Mother's Day. Top photo: This lovely Valentine's Day love birds necklace is featured as part of Ecouterre's 14 Eco-Friendly Jewelry Gifts to Make Your Valentine's Day Sparkle post.

Here's a "Sweet Treats" video I found created by Holly Smith for the Charming Charlie accessories chain.
