Artisan Wedding Jewelry

Gold knot rings by Jessica Poole.
Marriage is about the unique commitment that two individuals make to each other. Whether it is with something old or something new, there are many artists out there hoping to help you create a one-of-a-kind, ageless, and personal piece of jewelry that will endure the ever-changing nature of fashion.
The 18 karat Gold Knot Rings by Jessica Poole are a unique way to tie the knot - an inventive and fashionable variation from the diamond engagement ring.
Rough diamond stud earrings by Lex Luxe.
The beauty in artisan wedding jewelry is that the pieces usually fall under the category of an extension of regular jewelry, with a sentimental touch. These "not so typical diamond studs" can be worn as everyday jewelry. The 14kt gold studs hold a rough diamond created by Lexluxe. These earrings have been admired in LUCKY magazine, People Style Watch, and Martha Stewart Weddings.

Heart shape aluminum guitar pick by Nici Laskin. For the musician, a personalized guitar pick will last forever. This guitar pick was hand sawed in the shape of a heart by Nici Laskin. You can have a hole drilled in it and wear it as a necklace or a key chain. It also makes a great gift for groomsmen. You can even give it with a guitar, or guitar lesson, if you have the budget.

Misha of N.Y.These fresh water cultured pearl earrings and necklace are elegantly hand wrapped with gold filled wire by Misha of NY in his signature wire wrapped embedded stone technique.

Crocheted gold filled jewelry by Yoola. The crocheted cuff bracelet, ring, and necklace by Yoola, are modern and classic at the same time. The cuff is created using a crochet hook and fine gold filled wire.

Of course nothing says forever like a tattooed wedding band...

    Statement

The jewelry of Malou Paul distinguishes itself with a nostlagic feeling. On one hand this is reached through the (re)use of materials, such as old doorknobs, (old) zinc, old postcards, wool, combined with precious metals. On the other hand through the sources of inspiration, like mourning jewelry, victorian jewelry and traditional costume/folklore. Also nature, in all its different appearances, is an inexhaustible source of inspiration for beautiful shapes and colors.

Together, this ensures that the jewelry pieces of Malou Paul carry a piece of history within them. The jewelry looks lived in, each with its own story. In addition, experimenting with materials is important, as well as the search for new shapes and forms. The ultimate goal remains making an interesting piece of jewellery, without "overthinking."

Jewelry Alert - 3 Royal Bracelets

Do you love jewelry? What if money were no object? Royal families throughout history have indulged in royal jewels, and we were recently fascinated with 3 examples of bracelets that show a diversity of design and sensibilities.

    Queen Victoria

This popular British queen was widely copied when she began wearing charm bracelets. Most of her charms were gold, and many were lockets that contained pictures of other members of the royal family and a lock of their hair.

    Queen Elizabeth

Even though a traditional fifth anniversary present is wood or silverware, if you're the queen of England, your husband might give you a bracelet he personally designed. This bracelet was Prince Phillip's fifth anniversary present to Elizabeth. The gold bracelet consists of intertwining E's and P's and other meaningful ornaments are crafted from sapphires, diamonds, and rubies.

Sheffield School's Exciting Cover Girl Jewelry Moment

Were you raised to believe that bragging's not cool? Well, I was ... but I can't help it. I want to brag about our Jewelry Design Student Advisor, Nova Colette Bronstein.

As a professional jewelry designer, Nova intimately knows the world of design. When our Jewelry Design students call or email the School with questions or are in need of help, they can be confident that a professional like Nova is there to assist them.

And here's where the bragging part comes in - a classic example of talent paying off. Nova's beautiful Picot Edged Hoop Earrings in 18-K gold-plated sterling silver are being worn by superstar musician Leslie Feist on the October cover and cover story pages of Elle magazine in Canada. (Magazine cover styling by Maryam Nassir Zadeh.)

Here's how Nova describes her work.

Luxury Jewelry from Out of Africa

What do Barack Obama, Kate Middleton, and JK Rowling have in common? (This is a toughie!)

    Give up?

They're all fans of Patrick Mavros and his luxury designer jewelry. Our featured video focuses on Mavros as he describes his firm's creative process, creating cast silver and gold home goods, tabletop accessories, and jewelry (they even have a furniture line). His inspiration is taken directly from his native Africa, and there are Patrick Mavros outlets in Harare, London, and the vacation island paradise of Mauritius. Click here to explore
