Sheffield School's Exciting Cover Girl Jewelry Moment
Were you raised to believe that bragging's not cool? Well, I was ... but I can't help it. I want to brag about our Jewelry Design Student Advisor, Nova Colette Bronstein.
As a professional jewelry designer, Nova intimately knows the world of design. When our Jewelry Design students call or email the School with questions or are in need of help, they can be confident that a professional like Nova is there to assist them.
And here's where the bragging part comes in - a classic example of talent paying off. Nova's beautiful Picot Edged Hoop Earrings in 18-K gold-plated sterling silver are being worn by superstar musician Leslie Feist on the October cover and cover story pages of Elle magazine in Canada. (Magazine cover styling by Maryam Nassir Zadeh.)
Here's how Nova describes her work.
I attempt to strike a balance between the bold and the essential. My jewelry and objects originate from a fascination with ornament, the decorative, and the elegant simplicity of the silhouette. My designs often reference my background in fashion, textiles, and knitwear ... as well as the inspiration I find through travel - and all of my picot-edged pieces were inspired by my time in India.
Congratulations, Nova, on your jewelry's cover story debut! Also, swing by the New York Museum of Art and Design and slip into The Store where her jewelry has been selling since February of this year. Nova's experience selling jewelry through boutiques gives her additional knowledge and expertise which Sheffield students in our Jewelry Design course can benefit from.
READ MORE: Nova just wrote a fascinating in-depth report on The Importance of Play, which jewelry lovers everywhere will enjoy.
As lead curriculum developer for Sheffield School, it's exciting to follow the careers of our professional Student Advisors. If you'd like to know more about Nova's specialty, jewelry design, I encourage you to explore the Sheffield School, New York, NY. Sheffield began as an Interior Design school in 1985, and then expanded our course offerings to train people in other design-related fields, including Feng Shui, Wedding and Event Planning, and Jewelry Design. With thousands of active students and more than 50,000 graduates, Sheffield has trained more design professionals than any school in the world.
