Valentine's Day Wedding Proposal

We’ve chatted about Caroline Tran’s Propel Workshops. They’re such an amazing experience for photographers and some of the best photo sessions come from it - like this sweet one inspired by Merrill + Tim’s actual proposal story. He planned a valentine’s themed proposal with a ring in a box and an accordion style card that asked her to be his valentine forever. Happy Valentine's Day!

Inspiration for a Beautifully Decorated Wedding Reception Table

There's nothing more disappointing than going to a beautiful wedding, then going to the reception and the venue falls flat because there's no inspired decorating going on. Receptions are important in any wedding planning process. It's the way you bring every guest together to celebrate the newly-married couple. It's a way to feed and fete your guests and thank them for coming to your event. And the reception decor, particularly the reception tables, should carry the color scheme and overall theme of the wedding. Here's an inspiring reception table that put us in awe, and we're sure you'll find it inspirational, too. Click on any photo to see more.
In our inspirational photos, the rustic nature of the old wood tables and chairs is vastly amped up with the addition of lacey fabric and abundant flowers - and note the flowers at many different heights and locations (chair backs and the center of the table, with high and low arrangements adding color and romance without blocking the view across the table). 4 Favorite Contemporary Bridal Gowns that Look Vintage

Nostalgic looks are dominating many of today's weddings, and we're pleased to report that brides, grooms, and attendants don't only have to shop vintage (although that remains a great option). Some designers are embracing the look and feel of vintage and are coming up with some smashing examples of romantic, nostalgic bridalwear. A great example is the "Eden" gown (top photo) from designer Jenny Packham. Here are four of our favorite nostalgic contemporary gowns; click on each photo to see other shots from the weddings in which these lovely gowns were featured.

Above: The gown by Carol Hannah features lots of hand-cut lace detailing.

Our New Year's Wedding Resolution: Make All Bridal Bouquets Beautiful

Pink, ivory, and green form this perfect pale bouquet

Not every wedding has a big budget for massive flower displays. If you're studying Wedding & Event Planning with Sheffield School, then you know that a huge flower budget isn't vital to creating an overall memorable event.

A rustic countryside wedding fits this simple pink peony bouquet to perfection

Flowers, like any other element of the decor, need to be appropriate to the venue, add beauty to the event, carry out and continue the overall color scheme and theme of the event, and relate personally to the happy couple.

Deep pink and fuschia are great color bursts for this bouquet

The most intimate of the flower arrangements is the bridal bouquet, and we'd love to see the New Year filled with weddings where bridal bouquets are all a beautiful reflection of the happy day. Click on each photograph to learn more about the weddings behind each of these fantastic bridal bouquets. Which one is your favorite?
