100 Layer Cake - Prepare to swoon over today’s wedding. It’s got all the makings of a true Latin celebration. Bold colors + festive details + lots of sweets + the MOLAA (Museum of Latin American Art) in Los Angeles. We can only imagine how much fun Christina, of Simply Modern Weddings, must have had designing around Elyzza + Michael’s Mexican and Ecuadorian cultures! Considering our current Pop-up Shop is all about honeymooning in Mexico, we couldn’t help ourselves from sharing this colorful gem, shot by Ashley Rose.
Helpful tip to know about some venues: E + M saved $1,000 on booking both the reception and garden area (where the ceremony took place) at the MOLAA by switching their date to Friday instead of Saturday!
In the competitive and growing wedding and event planning market, it's not enough to follow the norm; you have to break the mold and be a trendsetter. If you're planning the Big Event, you'll want to make sure your clients know how to turn their affair into an amazing "wow" happening that pleases and delights everyone. One big trend we've been noticing in the events biz is the amping up of photography and videography. Mili and Sid Ghosh, for instance, began their Memories in Motion event cinematography business in 2004 to produce true cinema-style films for their worldwide clientele. They use motion picture camera supports and cine lighting to tell the story of grand, high-end weddings and other events. Here's an example of their luxe work.
Great weddings are all about the details - the many private and public moments where people are being authentically themselves, having fun, acting silly, and feeling hopelessly in love. Part of good wedding planning is to capture these moments with a great photographer/videographer. Whoever you hire for yourself or your clients should have a memorable website, stocked with impressive gallery shots and event highlight videos, and some will even have their own blogs. We discovered Film Foto Fusion, a firm in LA area, and liked their combination of photo and video focus - and their blog. The photograph at top shows a quiet, intimate wedding moment for the bride and groom; contrast that with the whirlwind of events captured in their wedding highlights video below.
