The Stylehound is one luck hound indeed, to have such friends as will email reports from dinners out that aren't just about the food or the company but that include detailed descriptions of the decor of the hosts' house. This just in from our Vermont correspondent:

Desire to Inspire

We’ve just seen some new photos up at Desire To Inspire, one of our favorite design blogs. Everything on this blog is clear, and clean, and crisp as a fresh piece of celery. Or fresh as a stainless steel square of wheatgrass from the portfolio of stylist Gerri Williams.

Desire To Inspire also features the work of Vancouver interiors photographer Marcos Armstrong.

We suggest a visit to the blog:

Looks as Good as it Sounds

Browsing around today for some new design finds, I came across this terrific speaker on  http://holistic-interior-designs.blogspot.com/

It's from Earth Balance Interiors, and everything about it is environmentally sound, from the packaging (100% post-consumer content) to the wood casing (rather than a heavy plastic casing) to the fact that it's energy-saving to run.

And it won't wreck the environment of your home, either, because it's simple and pretty to look at.

Advice Wanted

Okay, let's have some advice for the next residents of 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. We want to hear from you. What should the Obamas do with those 132 rooms? Granted, they aren't really allowed to make over the whole place, but every first family has made its mark on the White House. George Bush put in a pool room. Word is that Obama is hankering after a basketball court.

What would you advise them to do to make the place their own, or to make it feel like home?

Would the country-casual-elegantl-simpe look work? Send in your comments.
