Wedding Planning for the Lazy

Well, but what bride really is lazy? There is that terrific rush of adrenaline at the thought of your beloved --- or, if that doesn't do it, the thought of throwing what will likely be the biggest, possibly most important, probably most stressful party of your life will get you out of bed in the morning and running to the phone, the computer, the Blackberry to try and put it all together.

We're here to help. At least I can do this much for you---search for terrific wedding blogs and sites. Here's one I just found. The design of the blog is crisp and pretty, which makes sense as it's called stylemepretty.com

Great Advice

Hey, thanks for the great advice re: the post on "Advice Wanted." We particularly like the idea of the white or steel planter in the center of the table holding five of something (orchids, etc.). A series of glass vases would work also, but we agree with the need to have several, and always, always in an odd number. A Cheering Idea

This week Stylehound, like many people, has been wondering where the Christmas spirit is, and whether it's been taken down along with the Dow and the rest of the sorry economy.

So we went looking for something to cheer us up, and we found it--- on Patricia Gray's lively and cheering blog: "If you have a dollar, spend fifty cents on bread and fifty cents on flowers." It's an old French saying---of course, leave it to the French to get their priorities right, especially when it comes to sensual pleasures. So if you have fifty cents (or, really, more like ten dollars) see if a vase full of blooms won't perk everything up around the house.

Gray illustrates this with one of the most cheerful design photos we've seen in a long time, designed by Jeffrey Bilnuber, proving that a little yellow, and a little living color in flowers, goes a long way.

Thanks, Patricia!

Speaking of Terrific Bath Design

How about this? This bathroom is to be found at the Jentel Arists' Residency in Banner, Wyoming. It was designed by Neltje, the founder and benefactor of Jentel, and is part of a gorgeous, open-plan house with six bedrooms, built to house artists and writers for a month at a time.
