Everything and the Bathroom Sink

The Stylehound is one luck hound indeed, to have such friends as will email reports from dinners out that aren't just about the food or the company but that include detailed descriptions of the decor of the hosts' house. This just in from our Vermont correspondent:
"What a gorgeous house, right on the lake. And the guest bathroom - wow. The
counter - picture one beautiful, irregular thick slab of glistening wood,
about 3 or 4 feet. Sitting on it is an elegant little bowl, metal of some
sort. You know how these days bowls can now sort of sit on top of the
surface? And there was the most gorgeous fixture. One beautiful wand, that
somehow did everything you could imagine from one spot with one finger.
Splendid. Big glass walled shower (made big enough for a wheelchair, they
said; they are planning to stay here until they get decrepit and die), stone
floor."
That description defies illustration, but it reminded me of the sink in the "desire to inspire" post below, which has that same groovy above-ground bowl thing. And I did manage to come up with another photo of that same thing (sorry, you'll have to try and ignore the gorgeous guy washing his face in the photo).
Anyone know if there's a name for that little bowl?

I'm pretty sure it's called an "above counter" basin.
I know it as a "Vessel Sink"
Great post!

That is a great blg and is very informative. This blog is giving me the inspiration to have a blog for my own business of AC repair. It has been found that the
Lake Worth Air Conditioning is doing a good work on the AC repairs.
