Start Me Up! Winding Down

Hi there!

If you have been following Belle over the last several months you have had an inside peek at the building of a wedding planning business, as well as the behind-the-scenes working of an event. As you may have seen, a lot can go wrong, but so much can go right!

There is much left for Belle to tackle, and hopefully you all will be drawing upon your course knowledge and information from Belle’s adventures to create and succeed at your own ventures to come.  Of course, please remember that this is just the beginning and your potential is limitless!

True success never comes overnight, but I have come to realize through much trial and tribulation that there are no more powerful building blocks for success than knowledge, skill, confidence, and passion.

xx,
Belle

Start Me Up! Action-packed double-header

I came, I saw, I conquered.

To kick off the weekend, Friday night consisted of two wedding rehearsals, in towns almost two hours apart. Both weddings had very small bridal parties so that made life a little bit easier. Regardless, it was a lot of work on a warm Friday evening – and I knew it was just the beginning.

Start Me Up! When vendors attack...

So relieved this weekend is done! Another crazy wedding in the books!!

This weekend I ran a wedding that took place in an art gallery - actually the reception was in a nearby park with the reception in the gallery. It was a beautiful and original space. For this particular wedding, I had no hand in assisting the couple with picking their vendors – and unfortunately some of these vendors were less than desirable. I say this not because they were “bad people,” but because they were not team players and made my job extremely difficult.

Start Me Up! - Wedding review: read with caution!

I have said it before and I was reminded of it once again at my wedding last week - anything can happen… and oh boy it did.

First, what went wrong, went very, very wrong. The only elevator at the venue broke down. Ceremony and cocktails were to take place on the ground floor – great. Reception on the 6th floor – not so great. On Friday I arrived at the venue to conduct a rehearsal with the couple and that is when I found out about the broken elevator. In fact, the elevator had been broken for two days prior and no one alerted me of this fact.

Start Me Up!

It is nearly impossible for me to fathom that it is already the 24th of May, and the wedding we have been working on will be taking place in 5 days! In the world of weddings this is MAJOR crunch time. The bride and groom are typically running around doing a million  last minute things that may include picking up their license, dealing with 11th hour cancellations and packing for their honeymoon - just to name a few. As their planner you too are tying up loose ends and making sure all outstanding items have been addressed. In just a matter of days all of your hard work as a team will come to fruition.
