Rug Question

74200_217_plum_blossom_med

This question just in, from a Stylehound reader:

"What the heck is this style of rug? It's not traditional and I don't believe it is quiet a contemporary rug. thanks in advance!"

http://www.arearugsclub.com/rugs/plum-blossom-217-p-66.html

I think it's contemporary or modern, because of the pattern of plum blossoms. There isn't anything fussy or ornate about it. Anyone else want to categorize this rug for our reader? Whatever the style, we like this rug. Here's a photo of it in a room:

It's spring, at last, and time to start thinking about dining al fresco. Or at least, time to start pretending you're dining al fresco even when you're in your apartment.

These table linens, imported from France, will brighten up any room.

I Want One---Pillow Blanket

It's one of those "why didn't I think of that?" moments. Imagine how a girls' sleepover party would be transformed by this thing. A bunch of cushy pillows sewn together, with one missing so you can be surrounded.

Mind If I Slip Into Something More....Leathery?

leatherslipcover_thumb28(This chair brought to you by Lane Industries)

This just up at Patricia Gray's blog: an entry on leather slipcovers. When we first saw this, we thought, Huh? it just seems weird---aren't slipcovers supposed to be either your grandmother's chintz or a tidy white cotton duck? And in either case, isn't the point of slipcovers to protect the furniture from Kitty's claws and Junior's muddy sneakers? How could leather slipcovers possibly work?
