When You Want to Shop for Interior Design Online

Shopping online for furnishings and home goods? Well, good luck to you. Some people need to sit in a chair or sofa in order to experience what it would be like to use the furnishings in everyday use situations. But most people love the convenience of online shopping, and it's a great way to shop around from store to store while saving gas, driving time, parking, and in-store jostling. Do you remember when most people went into book stores to buy books? Now 60% of all books are bought on Amazon.com - and online stores are growing in popularity and sales that outrun their brick-and-mortar counterparts.

In a recent guest post I wrote for Williams-Sonoma Designer Marketplace - which, by the way, is an excellent collection of advice for anyone interested in interior design - my partner and I checked out Pottery Barn online; he selected some favorites and we applied three criteria for picking out excellence in interior design purchases in an online experience. Read the Williams-Sonoma piece here: How to Shop Online for Your Clients. (It actually applies to purchasing home goods for yourself, too.) Check out the items we loved during our online shopping spree, and click on the photos in this article to see my current favorites from the store. Happy online shopping!

As lead curriculum developer for Sheffield School, I love looking at new lines of furniture and home goods. If you're interested in learning more about home decorating and design, then I encourage you to explore the Sheffield School, New York, NY. Sheffield began as an Interior Design school in 1985, and then expanded our course offerings to train people in other design-related fields, including Feng ShuiWedding and Event Planning, and Jewelry Design. With thousands of active students and more than 50,000 graduates, Sheffield has trained more design professionals than any school in the world.

Excellent initiative, infused with very informative events and lectures. It's a bit unfortunate that it is scheduled during St' Valentines day, though.

Online shopping is very convenient! Buyers can get lots of cheap deals and lowered prices from online stores because products come direct from the manufacturer or reseller, without the involvement of middlemen. And best of it all, a purchase can be made with just the simple click of a mouse. The choices of materials in the pictures look great. Each room has a classy look, and that bathroom looks elegant with that curtain. How about trying to put more candles? It must be so relaxing to take a bath in a bathroom like that.

The only challenge i see with shopping for Interior Design online is you can't truly visualize the object and or furniture in the room. It is feasible, i know because i have done it to save on costs but i was afraid the furniture i did buy online may be too big or my room would not look like i pictured it in my head. Fortunately for me everything worked out. The online prices are unbeatable.
