Going With The Grain: Wooden Accessories by Solidio + May Co.

Turquoise imbedded Wooden Belt Buckle by Solidio, Photo: Nova BronsteinFurniture makers are branching out and getting new traction through jewelry.   Good economics and green thinking have taken each other's hand, encouraging repurposed materials.  This is what furniture makers Solidioa wife and husband team in Emlenton, PA are now doing. They utilize small pieces of wood and metal that would otherwise go to waste and turn them into jewelry and other small accessories.  The clean lines and precise execution inherent to furniture making persist beautifully here!

For a great example of clean, crisp and gorgeous product pictures check out Solidio's Etsy shop.  Click here to check it out!

Madagascar Ebony Cuff by May Co. , Photo: May Co.With the same green mentality Travis James creator of May Furniture Co. in Brooklyn has also created a jewelry line from wood scrap.  Only his has omitted the metal all together, opting for the simplicity of amber toned arcs.  What a gorgeous way to go green!!

If I hadn't read the caption, I wouldn't think that the first image would be a buckle. And these are very extraordinarily designed cuff links.
