Flowers...flowers...flowers...

I love flowers!  To look at my garden, you wouldn't be able to tell, but I promise I love flowers!  Centerpieces are beautiful at the reception and make quite a statement, but for me, it's the bouquet that is the real showstopper.  They are what the bride carries as she walks to meet her groom and  it's what is showcased in photos that will cover her walls.  Truly, it is one of the loveliest items at any wedding.  Here are a few beauties to brighten your day.

A New Year's Eve Wedding

I love New Year's Eve.  What's not to love?  Typically it's a gathering of friends all wearing cute glittery outfits, lots of champagne and (hopefully) some midnight smooching.  It also sounds a lot like a wedding.  So, in honor of New Year's Eve and the coming of 2012, here are a few inspirational photos to get you thinking about all of the fun to be had!  See you in the New Year!

Let Them Eat Cake.....

Let them eat cake...gorgeous, sumptous, exquisite cake.  A wedding is not complete without a dessert of some kind and the best (in my humble opinion) is cake.  It comes in many forms - lavish 8 tier cakes, mini-cakes, individual cakes for guests, cupcakes, humble homemade cakes by grandma, brightly colored cakes, all white cakes - but which ever type you choose, guests will look forward to it.  Here are a few beautiful photos to get you thinking, and probably dreaming, of cake.

Pinterest

Pinterest, pinterest, pinterest…you may be the greatest website ever.  Better than facebook.  Better than twitter.  Better than google.  I am obsessed.  I am in love.  I am a fanatical pinner.  The best aspect is that, besides that it is an amazing time-waster while I wait for the train, I am also being very productive for work.  How you ask?  Let me explain…

Pinterest is a virtual bulletin board for ideas that you find anywhere on the internet and want to save.  Once the photo/video/text is ‘pinned’ to a certain board (you create your own boards and titles), pinterest then saves and hyperlinks back to the original link when clicked.  This has saved me countless hours of searching through emails from myself/to myself with ideas for weddings.  It was as if a light went off and I had my EUREKA moment…a site that easily stores all of my ideas!  Genius!  I have boards for various ideas such as bouquets, ceremony, centerpieces, gowns, ladies, gentlemen, etc.    I have boards for specific couples and my ideas for their weddings.  In addition to my work pinterest, I also have my personal pinterest boards with ideas for my children, home, Christmas, clothing, even nail polish colors.  Anything and everything is pinned till the time when I need it or just a have a few minutes to browse.

As wedding and event planning, interior design and photography students, pinterest is a wonderful tool to help organize your ideas and unclutter your inbox.  A word of warning, it is terribly addictive in the best sort of way.  Please do not send me emails saying that it has now overtaken your every waking moment and that you are a pinterest addict because of me!  I did give you the warning!  Go forth and happy pinning!!
