Blogger's Home Critiqued by Feng Shui Consultant
Anyone who seriously practices feng shui as an interior design discipline should take a look at our featured video (see below) and take a little humor break. Outrageous - and frankly silly - Singapore blogger Wendy Cheng produces a flippant Internet video series called Xiaxue's Guide to Life, and in the following episode, she bravely shows her messy apartment to a feng shui expert. The practitioner is a pretty good sport about the entire thing. While many of us would have advised Wendy to dynamite her apartment rather than attempt to tidy it up, the practitioner gives a restrained and sensible set of recommendations - even after Wendy/XiaXue sticks her foot in her mouth and compliments her pretty ring with "crystals" in it (she's quickly informed that they're all diamonds; fun times!).
As lead curriculum developer for Sheffield School, I've taken a course in feng shui on mainland China to learn more about feng shui's applicaton to interior design. If you're also interested in feng shui, too, I encourage you to explore the Sheffield School, New York, NY. Sheffield began as an Interior Design school in 1985, and then expanded our course offerings to train people in other design-related fields, including Feng Shui, Wedding and Event Planning, and Jewelry Design. With thousands of active students and more than 50,000 graduates, Sheffield has trained more design professionals than any school in the world.
