Dining by Design 2011

DIFFA sponsored their annual fundraising event, Dining by Design, at last week’s Architectural Digest Home Design Show.  DIFFA is Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS.  Each year they invite famous and local designers to create dining installations that range from gorgeous to wildly provocative.

Here are some photos of this year’s installations.  Interior designer, Vincente Wolfe, created this flower bower of pink, white and blue hydrangea, perfect for a spring outdoor party.  Donald and Katherine Lanziero took their turn on their version of a spring fete - using citrus greens and yellows as their color scheme.   The décor looks all bright and cheerful until you look closer at the table setting.  Lanziero proceeded to add a macabre edge, including skulls and antlers as part of their centerpieces.

With every spring, come April showers.  Evette Rios for Hayneedle literally showered her dining installation with gentle raindrops.  At the center hangs a clear umbrella with large crystal raindrops, accentuating the watery theme.  Echo Design created an Indian theme with tribal patterned canopy and runner.  Providing a focal point is an abstracted print of Bengal tigers gazing out peacefully.

Designer Jeffrey Brooks takes wing with his table design.  Hovering over the dining table are white-feathered wings as if to gather the guests and fly them out.  His centerpiece includes glass-covered arrangements of calla lilies and a tower of radicchio.

Lastly, David Beahm nods to the upcoming British royal wedding with a Prince William and Kate Middleton-inspired dining installation.  A canopy of rose and orange fringed silk and climbing roses creates a romantic backdrop for the formal table setting.  A portrait of the royal couple graces mint green porcelain and tongue-in-cheek boxed condoms that carry the advice, “Lie back and think of England”.

Placing beautifully crafted small planter on the dining table will greatly enhance the look and feeling of the dining table. The dining will be a pleasant experience.

Dining with style really affects the food that is served and ambiance adds more enjoyment of the dining experience.

A very good dining experience depends on the ambiance. It is what customers look for first thing when they eat out. Food is just secondary.

That is the proper weblog for anybody who wants to find out about this topic. You understand so much
its almost exhausting to argue with you (not that I really would need…HaHa). You positively put a new
spin on a subject thats been written about for years. Great stuff, just nice!

I have been using a cycleops for the past year and just got a hand me down set of rollers. I'm not sure how to determine the correct length of the base.

I wish I could bake, but I just can’t do it. It’s NEVER works out and my lovely cookies end up looking and tasting like pre-historic fossils. I honestly think if I buried them that someone would find then and declare a new excavation site for dinosaur remains. Oh well. I’ll stick to what I do best….Barbque….: )

Although humans are omnivores, each culture and each person holds some food preferences or some food taboos, due to personal tastes or ethical reasons. Individual dietary choices may be more or less healthful. Proper nutrition requires the proper ingestion and, equally important, the absorption of vitamins, minerals, and food energy in the form of carbohydrates, proteins, and fats. Dietary habits and choices play a significant role in health and mortality, and can also define cultures and play a role in religion.

I am truly not too familiar with this theme but I do like to see websites for design themes and absorbing topics. You really thrived upon a theme that I commonly don’t deal much about and established it very entertaining. This is a fine website that I will take note of. I already earmarked it for future reference.

Most genres of music involve the listener into the realm of the completed work as it was scored. Jazz draws the onlooker to a deeper league, that of a partnership so to speak, of being along when each new phrase is created, when each inspired motive is often the interactive result of audience involvement.

This will simply be delighted over this new find. It is rare that so much valuable information is uncovered this many years afterwards. Truly a “transcendental” moment.
